Periods
| Period | Primary source | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| 24h | Individual stored observations from the preceding 24 elapsed hours | Follow recent changes across a rolling window that can cross calendar dates |
| 7d | Stored observations and daily summaries from the preceding 7 days | Follow the past week as a rolling window that ends at the latest refresh |
| Day | Individual stored observations | Inspect intraday changes and exact chart values |
| Week | Daily summaries across the selected week | Compare consecutive days |
| Month | Daily summaries across the selected month | Review monthly patterns and totals |
| Year | Monthly or longer-period summaries | Compare seasons and annual patterns |
Use the period control to switch between 24h, 7d, Day, Week, Month, and Year. The calendar browser lists stored dates and enables quick jumps within the available stored coverage.
24h and 7d end at the latest refresh time. Tap or click Last 24h or Last 7 days in the navigation bar to reveal the exact rolling interval. Previous and next controls appear for the fixed Day, Week, Month, and Year periods.
Presentation
- Standard presentation shows the configured full-size charts.
- Compact presentation shows supported period summaries and mini trends. Selecting a card opens its full chart.
- Choose the presentation with Settings › Dashboard Layout on iPhone and iPad, or with View › Dashboard View or the toolbar control on Mac. The choice applies to Real Time and Historical.
- Settings › Historical controls chart visibility and order. On iOS 27 and macOS 27 or later, cards also support dragging within a section and between sensor groups in Standard and Compact presentation. A cross-group move can require confirmation to replace custom sensor groups. See Customize Historical charts.
- Chart Data, available below a chart in detail views, lists the values behind the chart. Open in Historical shows that period on the dashboard, and the selected period is highlighted in the charts.
Data behavior
Historical uses the local station database. Opening a period can start applicable local loading, but a chart appears only when compatible observations or summaries exist. Automatic provider synchronization updates recent history; manual download and repair commands are available when the selected provider supports them.
On iPhone, Observation Data opens a selected calendar period’s detailed summary, child periods, and stored records. Share exports the dashboard as an image.
On macOS, Data › Refresh Historical or ⌘R refreshes while Historical is active. File › Save Snapshot… exports the complete Standard chart composition.
For procedures, see View rolling periods, View and compare historical periods, View Historical Observation Data, and Share the Historical dashboard.
