Version 2.10
Released September 19, 2026.
This update brings new ways to see what a station is measuring. Soil sensors get their own cards and charts, Historical adds a Last 7 days view, and dashboard cards open into detailed charts with related measurements. Rain is now calculated consistently across the app and its widgets, the Mac app has a redesigned interface, and many Historical, chart, provider, and widget issues have been fixed.
What’s New
- Soil Moisture and Soil Temperature cards, charts, and summaries for stations with these sensors.
- Last 7 days in Historical. Any period can be opened straight from Chart Data, and the selected period is highlighted in the charts.
- Selecting a dashboard card opens its charts together with related measurements. Compact condition cards show the rain rate and details about the current storm.
- New Sun and Moon artwork: drawn moon phases and a daylight arc that follows the station’s local time and solar noon.
- Rain and evapotranspiration are shown as vessels that fill and drain through the day.
- The map shows a marker layer with each station’s rain for the day.
- Widgets use a specific station and preset instead of “Automatic”, and lightning widgets show how far away the storm is.
- Disconnecting a provider no longer deletes saved history. After reconnecting, everything is still there.
- Weather Fusion can be supported with an optional, one-time tip from Settings or the Mac toolbar.
- Existing station databases can be optimized to take less space, without losing any data.
Improvements
- Rain totals, rain rates, and their charts come from one shared calculation, so the dashboard, Historical, observation tables, and widgets always agree.
- Historical loads faster, shows steadier download progress, and no longer flickers or goes blank while scrolling through observations.
- Charts are more consistent: matching month labels and bar widths in yearly views, consistent spacing between axis labels in compact charts, and no gaps when a chart changes size.
- Condition details in Real Time include a Last 24h chart and stay open while data refreshes.
- On the Mac, windows, tabs, the sidebar, the toolbar, and popovers use native controls, and switching between Real Time and Historical is quicker.
- On iPhone and iPad, Settings are reorganized, with station data tools grouped under Manage Data. The Historical toolbar fits smaller widths.
- Widget labels are shorter and clearer, Apple Weather conditions refresh on their own, and station names stay visible when weather is unavailable.
- Bug reports include more useful diagnostics and are quicker to prepare.
Bug Fixes
- Rainfall totals and charts across providers, including monthly totals that skipped the current day.
- Historical summaries that were recalculated over and over, downloads that lost their progress at midnight, and calendar charts hidden during maintenance.
- Chart details such as times shown when hovering over weekly charts, cramped axis labels, and highlights drawn outside the chart.
- Widgets that lost their credentials after a Keychain error, faded too early, or laid out badly at the small size.
- Mac: station list not updating with the sidebar hidden, wrong popover heights, and uneven dashboard cards.
- Demo databases left behind after leaving Demo mode, and the app being terminated while in the background on iOS.
WeatherLink
- Basic stations keep their stored history, live updates stay responsive while history downloads, and setup prefers stations that are currently reporting.
- Fixed history downloads pausing after a cooldown and Last 7 days refreshes hitting request limits.
Ambient Weather
- Fixed history downloads that could stop at empty pages despite older data being available.
- Improved request pacing and long-running backfill reliability.
Netatmo
- Sign-in problems recover on their own, station discovery covers longer periods, and local history stays available during reconnection.
- Fixed an endless history redownload and rain bars in Historical.
Ecowitt
- Ordinary and piezo rain gauges are shown separately, in the app and in widgets. Temperature readings are explained where they can be ambiguous.
- Fixed daily rain summaries and downloads that could not finish.
Tempest
- Rain reported at midnight is credited to the day it actually fell.
Weather Underground
- Daily records are downloaded for existing stations, download progress is visible, and the 24-hour rain setting shows which total the station reports.
- Fixed rolling 24-hour totals, station validation, and reconnecting stations that have local history.
Windy
- Stations load even when the account password is missing, and stations with local history reconnect.
Apple Weather
- Conditions are shown even when the station provider is unavailable, and failed requests retry more gracefully.
