Real-time card reference
Real Time cards
Real Time cards show current measurements, recent stored history, and station-location context. Available cards depend on the connection service, reported measurements, and attached sensors. Card visibility and order are described in Customize the Real Time dashboard.
Card statistics and details
Standard measurement cards show a current reading and gauge. Compatible stored observations provide a recent trend, usually covering six hours, and statistics for the preceding 24 elapsed hours. Scalar cards show Min, Max, and 24h Average when available, with occurrence times for the extrema. Wind-speed and light-intensity cards show maxima and averages. Rain, lightning, wind direction, and evapotranspiration have the separate summaries described below.
Compact measurement cards show the current reading with a small gauge or other visual indicator. Selecting a measurement card opens its detail, with compatible charts and related readings, including Last 24h when supported. The detail stays open during refreshes.
Channel numbers and source names distinguish separate readings. Some channels use the same measurement title, with the sensor or group name providing context.
Older observations
When the latest station observation is more than two hours old and Weather Fusion shows a delayed-data warning, dashboard cards use reduced emphasis. Station Map remains at full emphasis. Apple Weather context has its own update time and can remain available during a station-provider interruption. See Fix missing or stale real-time data.
Station and condition cards
| Card | Content |
|---|---|
| Station Map | The station’s location. Valid coordinates provide the map position. The card follows the map’s Weather Layer choice and can show the latest static Rain Radar composite. Selecting it opens the station map. |
| Current Condition | A headline based on rain, wind, temperature, solar, air-quality, or pressure context, with Apple Weather context when valid coordinates are available. Compact presentation shows the headline, condition icon, and compatible rain rate. |
| Sun Cycle | Civil dawn, sunrise, sunset, and civil dusk for the station’s current day, drawn as a daylight arc. Compact presentation shows the daylight duration. |
| Moon Cycle | Moonrise, moonset, phase, and illumination for the station’s current day. Compact presentation shows the phase name and moon image. |
Temperature, humidity, and comfort
These cards show separate current readings on arc gauges. Recent trends and rolling statistics require compatible stored observations. Comfort metrics appear when reported or derived for the station.
| Card | Measurement |
|---|---|
| Temperature | Outdoor air temperature. Typical range adds Apple Weather context for the location, date, and hour when available. |
| Humidity | Outdoor relative humidity. |
| Dew Point | The temperature at which the air reaches saturation. |
| Apparent Temperature and Feels Like | Separate measures of perceived temperature, using the values available for each metric. |
| Heat Index | Temperature adjusted for humidity. |
| THW Index and THSW Index | Temperature-humidity-wind and temperature-humidity-sun-wind indices. |
| Wind Chill | Temperature adjusted for the cooling effect of wind. |
| Wet Bulb | Wet-bulb temperature. |
| Black Globe Temperature | Temperature measured by a black-globe sensor. |
| Wet Bulb Globe Temperature | The available wet bulb globe temperature value. |
| Vapor Pressure Deficit | The difference between saturation vapor pressure and actual vapor pressure. |
Rain and evapotranspiration
Rain rate and each accumulation window have separate cards. Standard accumulation cards use a vessel gauge; their small history charts show rain over the preceding 24 hours.
| Card | Content |
|---|---|
| Rain Rate | Current rainfall intensity on an arc gauge, with a recent rate trend. |
| 1-h Rain | Rain accumulated over the preceding hour, on a vessel gauge. |
| Today’s Rain / Daily Rain | The reported station-day total, on a vessel gauge. Today’s Rain identifies a value dated to the station’s current local day; otherwise the card uses Daily Rain. |
| 24-h Rain | Rain accumulated over the preceding 24 elapsed hours, on a vessel gauge. |
| Evapotranspiration | The available daily total, with a rolling 24-hour total as a fallback, on a vessel gauge. Supporting 24-h total, Daily Total, and Monthly Total rows appear when supplied. |
Ecowitt connections can provide the four rain cards separately for a traditional gauge and a piezoelectric gauge. Their titles use (Rain Gauge) and (Piezoelectric), such as Rain Rate (Rain Gauge) and 24-h Rain (Piezoelectric). Each card uses its gauge’s own measurements and accumulation window.
Stored rain history supplies 24-h total and Max rate rows; the 24-hour accumulation card already shows the total as its main value. Rain details also include compatible storm, weekly, monthly, or annual totals reported by the same source.
Wind, pressure, and light
| Card | Content |
|---|---|
| Wind Speed | Sustained wind speed on an arc gauge, preferring a 2-minute average and using compatible fallback readings when needed. |
| Wind Gust | Gust speed on an arc gauge, preferring a 10-minute maximum and using compatible fallback readings when needed. |
| Wind Direction | Wind direction on a compass gauge. Stored history supplies average direction, average wind speed, and maximum gust for the preceding 24 hours. |
| Pressure | An arc gauge titled Sea Level Pressure or Station Pressure for the value shown. Sea-level pressure is preferred when available. |
| Altimeter Setting | The separately reported aviation altimeter pressure setting, on an arc gauge. |
| Pressure Tendency / 3-Hour Pressure Change | Pressure change on a scale centered on zero, preferring the reported 3-hour change when available. The title identifies the selected measurement. |
| Solar Irradiance | Solar power per unit area on an irradiance scale. |
| Illuminance | Reported light intensity in lux on an illuminance scale. |
| UV Index | Reported ultraviolet index on a UV scale. |
Visibility, clouds, and lightning
| Card | Content |
|---|---|
| Visibility | Reported visibility on an arc gauge, including any limit qualifier supplied by an aviation report. |
| Clouds | Airport (METAR) sky conditions. The card uses the lowest reported cloud layer with a known base, or the first layer when bases are missing. Standard presentation shows Cloud Type and Cloud Base, or Vertical Visibility for an obscured sky. Compact presentation shows the sky-condition headline and artwork. |
| Lightning | Lightning status and proximity, with last-strike distance and age. Compatible readings provide recent detections, 1-hour or rolling 24-hour strike totals, and additional detail. Compact presentation shows the current status or distance. |
Air quality
Each available measurement has a separate arc-gauge card, with compatible recent trends and rolling statistics.
| Card or family | Measurement |
|---|---|
| PM1, PM2.5, and PM10 | Particulate concentrations for the named particle sizes. PM2.5 and PM10 prefer a reported nowcast when available. |
| AQI | Air Quality Index, preferring a reported nowcast when available. |
| PM2.5 Sensor 1 through PM2.5 Sensor 4 | Particulate concentration from each reported PM2.5 channel. |
| Air Temperature, Air Humidity, and Air Dew Point | Temperature, relative humidity, and dew point associated with the air-quality sensor. |
